Can video games create empathy?


Playstation game Papo & Yo has been winning rave reviews for its innovative story. It's been described as a magic-realist fable, set in the favelas of South America. Jian talks to its creator, Montreal-based game developer Vander Caballero, who based the story on his own childhood, growing up in Bogota, Colombia with an alcoholic father. He discusses the inspiration for Papo & Yo, and the unique ways that interactive games can help players explore and understand deep emotions.
