Are restaurants too noisy?


A recent report in The New York Times found that many of the city's top restaurants are loud enough to cause hearing loss. Reporter Cara Buckley talks about what's driving the trend toward high volume eateries, and the risks to staff and patrons.

Noisy restaurants have also been a hot topic in Canadian cities. But owners like Ryan Gray of the popular Montreal restaurant Nora Gray say that many customers like the high-energy party atmosphere.
