After opening in New York and Los Angeles last weekend, Ben Zeitlin's "Beasts of the Southern Wild" has already been hailed a modern masterpiece by some film critics. Roger Ebert says it's "one of the year's best films."

Today, Jian talks to director Ben Zeitlin about the meteoric rise of his first feature film, and about concerns raised by some that a white filmmaker from New York has no place making a gritty fable about a poor, predominantly-black community in the Mississippi Delta.
