Baltimore City Councilor William Welch's proposal to sell ad space on that city's fire trucks was recently approved by the council. He argues it's a way to preserve a crucial public service. Elizabeth Ben-Ishai from Public Citizen says public space is meant to reflect the values of our society, not get co-opted by the private sector.
