Today, Jian spoke to Marilyn Hagerty, a columnist at the Grand Forks Herald in North Dakota, who recently wrote a (sincere and earnest) review of her city's new Olive Garden. Within days, it was picked up by blogs and shared hundreds of thousands of times through Twitter and Facebook. Her review has now received more than a million page views.
Many commenters and bloggers have been quite snarky in response to Marilyn's polite review, while others (including Anthony Bourdain) have been very supportive. This story seems to have become a touchstone for a feisty debate about food elitism.
What do you think of Marilyn Hagerty's review? And what do you make of the snobbery?
