Last week, the Los Angeles City Council approved a new measure that legally requires porn actors to wear condoms during film shoots. Today, Jian spoke to Michael Weinstein, president of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, who has been fighting for years for mandatory condom use in porn. Yet, many porn producers have criticized the new bylaw, in part because they say they do a good enough job of protecting the health of actors by requiring monthly tests for sexually transmitted infections.
What do you think about the new bylaw? Is the enforcement of condoms in porn a healthy step or is the government overstepping its boundaries?
