Artist Marni Kotak on giving birth in a gallery

marnikotak.jpg   Two weeks ago, performance artist Marni Kotak gave birth to a baby boy in front of visitors at the Microscope Gallery in Brooklyn as part of her exhibit called "The Birth of Baby X".

Marni calls giving birth the "highest form of art," yet some have questioned her choice to give birth in a gallery. What do you think it is about her story that's gotten people so riled up? What are your overall thoughts about Marni Kotak's exhibit?

Also, she's not the only woman who's been giving birth in a public way (i.e. there are many women posting their birth videos on YouTube). Do you see the rise in the public sharing of birth videos and stories as a good thing?
