Today on the show, Jian spoke to Sasha Houston Brown. She's the author of a strongly worded open letter to Urban Outfitters, about its new "Navajo" themed products.
The hipster retailer has responded with a brief statement: "The Native American-inspired trend and specifically the term "Navajo" have been cycling thru fashion, fine art and design for the last few years. We currently have no plans to modify or discontinue any of these products."
Let us know where you stand. Would you wear "Navajo" panties? Should designers be able to draw inspiration from traditional tribal designs.
UPDATE: It appears that Urban Outfitters has removed the name "Navajo" from its online shopping site. The panties shown here are still for sale, under the name "Printed Hipster Panty".
