Facebook pages such as "You know she's playing hard to get when you're chasing her down an alleyway" and "Riding your Girlfriend softly, Cause you don't want to wake her up" have recently become the subject of growing controversy.
They are just two of many 'rape joke' pages created by Facebook users.
Petitions have been started in the U.S. and the UK calling on Facebook to ban pages that make light of rape and other violence toward women.
Today Jian spoke with Jane Osmond, who has been
campaigning for Facebook to remove the pages which she considers hate speech. Others have weighed in saying this is a freedom of speech issue, and while we are free to be offended by these jokes, banning them goes to far.
Where do you stand? Do you want to see Facebook take down 'rape joke' pages? Or is asking Facebook to be the arbiters of good taste and humour a slippery slope when it comes to freedom of expression?
