Today on Q, guest host Jully Black talked to acclaimed writer Sapphire. Her 1996 novel, Push, became the movie Precious, which won acclaim and awards, from Sundance to the Oscars. She's back with a new novel called The Kid, the story of Precious' son, Abdul.

Jully spoke to Sapphire about her new book and its look at abuse, the controversy that surrounds her graphic writing (one critic calls her work "tragedy porn"), and her thoughts on turning her books to film.
