On Thursday's show, Q featured a discussion about a new coffee shop that recently opened in Seattle called 15th Avenue Coffee and Tea. 15th Avenue looks like your average neighbourhood coffee shop. But it's not. It's actually owned and operated by Starbucks...no Frappucinos or CDs for sale...and barely a mention of Starbucks anywhere in the store. Marketing consultant Peter Merholz, says the experiment is doomed to fail because of its inherent dishonesty. What do you think? Is it possible for Starbucks to authentically create a real neighborhood cafe? Is Starbucks being dishonest with their customers? What does this move say about Starbucks and their brand? Give us your thoughts.
