The Michel Gondry movie Be Kind Rewind gave rise to homemade versions of real movies online but this one, HUNT FOR GOLLUM, is an entirely different thing. It's an amazingly slick 40-minute movie made for less than $5000 that tells the story of what happens between J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. Catch it at Daily Motion but only for a few more days.
One-a-day or one-a-week blog projects are everywhere online but the 50 IN 50 PROJECT seems overly ambitious. Every week for 50 weeks, actor Brent Rose creates a brand-new character and shoots a short video narrative featuring his new creation.
SUGAR STACKS tells you how much sugar, by the cube, is in many of the things you might eat or drink every day. A personal interest of mine because I think there is a sugar conspiracy out there. It's in everything (cue ominous music).
