Mio on the Down-Lo: Let's Just Keep This Between You and Me

Okay...the bumping is over. How are social networking sites like Facebook and Flickr impacting our privacy? That's the central question behind WEEKEND PICTURES, a massive web video project from Toronto Ryerson student Steven James May. It has been nominated for a web award at next month's SXSW interactive conference and if you want to vote for it do so after the jump (Also weigh in on the subject in the comments page. How has the web compromised your privacy and how do you deal with it?)...

Weekend Pictures is up for a SXSW WEB AWARD in the 'Student' category but you can give it an extra boost by voting for it for the People's Choice Award. The site itself is a compelling and comprehensive conversation about online privacy told from many perspectives in over 100 video interviews.

Other stuff:

THE DISTRICT is a funny spoof of MTV's faux reality series The City. The City is about a rich California girl Whitney Port who moves to MYC to work in fashion. The District is about a Chicago senator Barack Obama who moves to Washington DC to work at the White House.

FACES SQUISHED BY THIGHS A new trend from Japan perhaps? I dunno. This is so weird and not sexual so I thought you should check it out. Keep hitting the 'Next" button on the right side to see more pictures.

TANK RIOT is a great podcast hosted by three monster geeks from Wisconsin named Tor, Sputnik and Viktor. In each one, they tackle a subject, usually pop culture-related, in great detail. The most recent one is a fantastic homage to Mr. Rogers of "Neighbourhood" fame. Check it out and also check out the one on Devo.
