Dance couldn't ask for a shinier, happier ambassador than reality-show hits like "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Dancing With the Stars". But while these shows certainly pave the way for MORE dance TV, they may not do much for the art of dance or the communities whose talents feed them.
Is dance TV great for dance - generating new enthusiam? Or is it, as some critics say, dance dumbed down. One noted choreographer even suggested the performances are so awful they shouldn't even be considered dance...
