It's an open secret in the entertainment world: Hollywood animated features must appeal to kids and adults alike. It's been true ever since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs appeared on screen in 1937.
But according to Salon film critic Andrew O'Hehir, we're seeing a seismic shift in the ratio of kid-versus-adult content -- from Up to WALL-E to the new Johnny Depp animated feature Rango.
