The Ron James Show (HD) (DV)

THE RON JAMES SHOW is back...and there's plenty to celebrate. It's our fourth season and as Ron says, "If you want to show this country in all its glory, you definitely need four seasons!"

Viewers can look forward to more of that uniquely Canadian, poetically charged stand-up comedy Ron is famous for. We'll also feature brand new sketches chock full of recognizable guest stars and satirizing a wide variety of society's hot button issues. And naturally, we'll be checking in weekly with fan favourite 'L'il Ronnie', showcasing the animated misadventures of a hyperactive pre-teen Ron James in his 1967 world of coal town Cape Breton.

We'll build on last year's successful 'Ode to the Road' segments, in which Ron takes a camera crew to many of the towns he has played in over the years. While some of us may have a 45 minute commute, Ron's daily drive for the last 13 years has been criss-crossing the Trans-Canada Highway, where he's 'strung his trapline' from Cornerbrook to Courtney Comox, getting maximum comedic mileage from his observations about 'people and places' he's embraced along the way. This season's "Ode to the Road" segments will look at some of Canada's most electric and eclectic towns, giving a hilarious shout out to those who populate the lands of the 'Big Wide Open'. During stops in Calgary, Lunenberg, Niagara Falls, Moncton, Dawson City & more, we'll introduce you to folks you may never see on the cover of Maclean's but who mean the world to all of us.
