Canada's number one political satirist, Rick Mercer, is in his ninth season of THE RICK MERCER REPORT with weekly dose of political satire, funny takes on the week's top stories and cross-country adventures. In season eight audiences were delighted and thrilled by Rick's exploits that included a 'polar dip' in Nova Scotia with fellow comic Ron James, an Ottawa stint as Speaker of the House in the Queen's University Model Parliament, and an encounter in the ring with boxing legend George Chuvalo. Viewers also caught Rick driving a train at the 'last spike' site in the Rockies and helping to build a Habit for Humanity house in Regina.

During the year he also road-tested a motorized scooter with Ontario Lieutenant-Governor David Onley, went zip-lining in Calgary with Jann Arden, Olympian Kyle Shewfelt, and Mayor Naheed Nenshi, he also went to Winnipeg to learn how to escape from a submerged vehicle, and wrapped up the season checking out the moose population in Newfoundland's Gros Morne National Park. There's simply no telling what he may get up to this fall!

Returning again, is one of the most talked-about features of every show--- Rick's rant. In his final rant of the 2010-11 season Rick urged students to participate in the upcoming Federal election. They heeded his call and organized 'vote mobs' at campuses across the country, making history by putting the student vote in the national spotlight for the very first time.

Also back are regular segments that have made RMR a perennial hit, including the creative Photo Challenge, cheeky RMR parodies of TV commercials and political messages, and RMR's weekly target practice on newsmakers, The Front Page.

The current season of THE RICK MERCER REPORT is guaranteed to keep audiences amazed and laughing.
