GO was CBC Radio's "live chemical reaction." Hosted by Brent Bambury in front of a studio audience, the show was broadcast live to the nation every Saturday morning.
What was Go about? It was about having fun on a Saturday morning. During its eight-year run, GO hijacked the Governor General from a donut shop, played disco music with Lister Sinclair, and mistook Burton Cummings for a ghost.
The show traveled the country - playing to audiences in Whitehorse, Vancouver, St. John's, Montreal, Saskatoon, Glace Bay, Hamilton, Yellowknife, Calgary, Regina, Quebec City, Halifax, Charlottetown and Edmonton.
GO was launched in the CBC's Chateau Laurier studios, in Ottawa, in July 2002. The final episode was broadcast from the Drake Hotel in Toronto on June 23rd, 2010.
