Tom Power is a broadcaster and musician, raised in St. John's, Newfoundland. He started out programming folk music on college radio, quickly moving on to work as a news reporter/reader at a local radio station. Tom joined the CBC as host of the national folk music program, Deep Roots, in 2008, and later became the host of CBC Radio 2 Morning. As the host of q, Canadians have come to know Tom for his heartfelt, in-depth interviewing style (speaking to Atlanta rapper Killer Mike about the Ferguson grand jury verdict) and mischievous sense of humour (jokingly chiding actor Catherine O'Hara for her parenting skills in "Home Alone").
Off the air, Tom fronts the folk-rock band The Dardanelles -- known for drawing new audiences around the world to traditional Newfoundland music.
