Terry Milewski is CBC-TV's senior correspondent in Ottawa, to which he has returned after working in over 30 countries during over 30 years with the CBC.
Milewski became a local news reporter at CBC Calgary in 1978 and joined the National Television News Service in 1980, when he was appointed to the post of science and medicine specialist. In 1983, he moved to Ottawa as a parliamentary reporter and, three years later, he set up The National's bureau in Jerusalem, becoming its first Middle East correspondent.
He later spent eight years in the CBC's Washington bureau, covering the Reagan, Bush and Clinton administrations, then moved to Vancouver in 1995. He continued to travel widely, with frequent returns to the Middle East, the U.S. and India. He won a Gemini award for his coverage of the 1997 APEC Summit, a Webster for his coverage of the Air India bombing and a Canadian Association of Journalist award for "Ray of Light," a documentary shot in India.
