In his almost 20 years with CBC Manitoba Terry MacLeod has established himself as a respected, informed, inquisitive and compassionate presence on the Winnipeg scene. As co-host of the weekday morning radio show on CBC Radio One 89.3 FM/990 AM in Winnipeg alongside Marcy Markusa, the program won Best Regional Program in the CBC Radio Awards and the Community Media Award from the Manitoba Psychological Society. Terry is the recipient of four Thunder Bay Press Club Awards.
Terry has been involved with a multitude of organizations; from The Teddy Bear's Picnic to The Gimli Folk Festival to the Information Technology Association of Manitoba to The Manitoba Architects Association to The Truth & Reconciliation Commission. Terry received a special Award of Merit for his volunteer work with The Canadian Muslim Leadership Institute. More recently, he was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service in November 2012.
Terry received his BA (Psychology) in Prince Edward Island where he then went on to start his career with CBC in Thunder Bay Ontario. Terry produced and guest-hosted CBC Radio's hit network show Morningside with Peter Gzowski and guest-hosted CBC Radio Toronto's Metro Morning, Morningside in the Summer, Sounds Like Canada and As It Happens. He worked in Aboriginal language radio with WaWaTa in Sioux Lookout, Ontario and Taqrimuit Nipingat in Salluit, Nunavik. He also hosted for BBC Radio Scotland.
Terry also contributed to Peter Gzowski's The Latest Morningside Papers and had book reviews published in The Winnipeg Free Press, The Ottawa Citizen & The Victoria Times Colonist.
