Susan Bonner is one of Canada's top political journalists, currently reporting from Washington, D.C. on the day's top stories from the White House, Capitol Hill, and wherever news breaks south of the border. Bonner's reports appear on CBC News Network, as well as CBC News The National.
Most recently, Bonner was a parliamentary reporter for CBC Television, where she played a key role in all federal political coverage for the network, including live hits and analysis on throne speeches, budgets, cabinet shuffles, party leadership and policy conventions, and First Ministers' Meetings.
Bonner's 20-year journalistic career has taken her from daily reporting in Saskatoon and Calgary, to political journalism in Halifax and Montreal, where she was assigned to an elite Investigative documentary unit producing high-profile documentaries for CBC Television.
Bonner has worked the entire editorial chain, from desk editor at CBC News The National to producing a daily news and current affairs program for CBC Newsworld called The Lead. Before taking up the national political beat in Ottawa, Bonner was the economics reporter for CBC News The National. She also previously worked in CBC Television's Washington Bureau during the Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal and subsequent impeachment stories.
