Keith Boag heads up the CBC's new Los Angeles Bureau as West Coast correspondent reporting from the United States and Mexico, but he is best known for his many years reporting on national politics from Ottawa.
Boag has been CBC News The National's political current affairs reporter, the Ottawa bureau chief and, most recently, CBC Television's chief political correspondent. In that role, he was a key member of CBC's coverage of the last four federal elections and numerous national party leadership campaigns.
Prior to that, Boag was a foreign correspondent, reporting first from Washington, D.C., then from Cape Town, South Africa.
Boag began his CBC career in the local television newsroom in Fredericton, N.B., in 1983, and from there moved to the Montreal newsroom, in 1985. He's also had stops in Toronto and Vancouver.
Boag studied at The University of New Brunswick, McGill University and Carleton University. He has a degree in history.
