Jonathan Crowe was born in Nairobi, Kenya. He has been with CBC for more than 28 years, starting his career as a production assistant in Montreal. He worked with CBC's digital channel Country Canada in 2001, where he was producer and host of the program "Food Chain." In November 2005, he became the host of CBC: Here & Now in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Hardly a veteran in the host chair, Crowe still feels an adrenaline rush and a love for live performance. He describes himself as a "normal" guy and one that most people can relate to. When he's not reporting the news, Crowe loves to play hockey, lacrosse, and runs three mornings a week. He's also an avid reader - you'll find books about military history, WWI, and biographies on his bookshelf. He jokes that he may be one of the last few that still buy CDs. He considers his family to be his greatest accomplishment.
