Jonathan Crowe was born in Nairobi, Kenya. He has a degree in political science and history from McGill University.

In 1984, he began casual work at the CBC as a production assistant in the sports department in Montreal. Three years later, he moved to St. John's to take a job as the sports host/reporter on the regional supper hour show, Here and Now.

Jonathan has worked as a current affairs reporter, the regional justice reporter and as a political reporter. He's also contributed to The Sports Journal and Land & Sea. Jonathan's work has taken him to places as diverse as Montana and Iceland.

In 1997, he picked up a camera and became a video journalist. He's just finished a four-year stint with CBC's digital channel Country Canada where he was a producer and host with the program "Food Chain".

In November 2005, Jonathan became co-host on Newfoundland and Labrador's supper hour program CBC News: Here & Now. Getting this position for Jonathan is one of the magical moments of his career.
