Gary Ennett

Gary Ennett has been with CBC Radio since the opening of the London, Ontario news bureau in 1998.

He has covered a wide range of stories including the Ipperwash Inquiry into the death of native protester Dudley George, the collapse of the London-based Fulcrum Financial, and the funding challenges facing Ontario's hospitals.

Ennett has also covered major stories in education. Among them: the implications of declining enrolment for elementary and secondary schools, attempts to combat schoolyard bullying, and the Bob Rae Report on Post Secondary Education.

In additon to his work as a reporter, Ennett regularly performs as a news editor of the Ontario Regional News.

From 1985 to 1997, he served as news director of CFPL-AM & FM in London. Under his leadership, the stations won more than 20 news awards, including seven international citations.

Ennett is a part-time lecturer in the Graduate Journalism program at the University of Western Ontario, and is a former president of the Radio-Television News Directors Association of Canada.
