Dave Seglins

Dave Seglins is a CBC News reporter and host of CBC Radio's The World This Weekend.

Seglins began his career as a summer reporter with CBC in Sudbury, Ont. before moving to Halifax, and then Toronto. In 1998, he helped open CBC's new bureau in London, Ont., and was the first broadcast journalist on the ground in Walkerton when the town's drinking water system became contaminated with deadly e.coli back in May of 2000.

Seglins moved to Toronto in 2000 and has since worked as a reporter, host and news editor with CBC Radio, TV and CBC.ca, working most closely with CBC Toronto's Metro Morning, Ontario Morning, as well as a summer stint at CBC Yukon.

He has won numerous awards for his breaking news and investigative reports on Walkerton's deadly e.coli outbreak, SARS, corruption within Toronto's police force, and addiction and crime linked to Canada's casino industry.

Raised in Bolton, Ont., Seglins holds a B.A History/Politics (McMaster, 1993), M.A. Canadian History (Queen's, 1995), and M.A. Journalism (University Western Ontario, 1996).
