Cory Edel

Cory Edel is featured in the following program(s):

Cory Edel is a meteorologist with CBC News. Cory can be seen Saturdays and Sundays on CBC News Alberta Late Night, and heard on CBC Edmonton’s radio news.

Cory began his television career after receiving a TV broadcasting diploma from NAIT in 1999. His first broadcasting job was as a director for Global, but at the age of 25 decided to take a year off to travel Europe, the Middle East, and northern Africa.

When he returned, he was still addicted to TV but craved a change, so he went back school to earn a Specialization in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Alberta.

Upon graduation, Cory came to work first for CBC Edmonton doing local and national weather. Cory then spent a year in Calgary with another network, but returned to Edmonton to further his meteorology career with CBC.

After spending a good portion of his life in Edmonton, Cory is very excited to see how Edmonton has been growing and evolving, which does not appear to be slowing down. "I have seen so much positive change in Edmonton and get excited to see all the changes, especially downtown with more and more cranes in the skyline, it is a great time to be an Edmontonian."
