Award-winning journalist Brooks DeCillia is CBC Radio's National Reporter in Saskatchewan. He is a native of British Columbia.

Brooks attended journalism school at the University of Regina after getting an honours degree in international studies at the University of Saskatchewan.

He started his career in broadcasting as an intern with CBC Saskatchewan, and went on to work for CBC Nova Scotia between 1998-2000 before coming back to CBC Saskatchewan.

Brooks has a passion for investigative reporting and covering live, breaking stories. He has covered stories in Europe and across North America. Brooks was part of a team of reporters whose work on the suspicious freezing deaths of aboriginal men in Saskatoon earned CBC News a prestigious Michner Journalism Award nomination in 2004.

When he's not chasing down stories as Saskatchewan's Network Reporter, he's running marathons and playing with his dog - or hanging out with his wife and son.
