Born in County Louth, Ireland, Adam studied at University College Dublin and trained at the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin. His theatre career kicked off with an appearance in the Gate Theatre, in Adrian Noble's acclaimed production of Brian Friels' The Homeplace, which had a hugely successful West End transfer at the Comedy Theatre, This early role quickly established him as a leading theatrical actor in Ireland, and he went on to appear in Kilt at Andrew's Lane, A Midsummer's Night Dream, The Illusion, Great Expectations, Rachel West’s production The System, Thesis, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006. Most recently, Adam appeared in a as well as a role in Les Liaisons Dangereuses at the Gate Theatre Dublin.

Adam is no stranger to the screen, either, appearing as series lead Seamus Doogan in Trouble in Paradise, a new TV mini-series produced by Great Western Films for RTE2, as the lead Daniel in Satellites and Meteorites, an independent Irish feature, and the new Irish independent feature Happy Ever Afters Adam recently appeared in a series regular role in season six of The Clinic for Parallel Films/RTE.

His role as Adam on Being Erica caps an extensive list of film and television credits, and marks the first time the Irish heartthrob has starred in a romantic role in Canada.
