About the Host

Jason Turnbull

Jason Turnbull hails from the little mining town of New Waterford, Nova Scotia. He started working with CBC in 2002 while attending school in Halifax. Since then he's worked throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Winnipeg, and Toronto.

It was in the summer of 2007 when he was called to come for a visit to the Sudbury station. He never left. Since then he's travelled across the region collecting stories from northerners, chased down politicians at city hall, and was himself chased down by a black bear (true story).

In his career so far with CBC he's had a chance to pitch questions at many fascinating people including Prime Minister Stephen Harper, actress Ellen Page, NHL great Mark Messier, top ranked tennis pro Rafael Nadal, and many others.
