Why would any community, let alone 21, sign up to for the right to become Canada's nuclear dump? The repository will eventually house highly radioactive used fuel bundles (more than 2 million) currently stored at nuclear power plants. The waste site will cost anywhere from 16 to 24 billion dollars, once a host community is chosen. Susan Lunn went to one town that's on the list -- the Northern Ontario community of Hornepayne -- to try to answer why folks there would consider taking this waste.
