For most students, going back to school means excitement, maybe anxiety, but not a long journey to a strange and intimidating place far from home to a school much bigger and very different from the one you left behind where graduation comes not just with a certificate but perhaps another identity. At a high school in Cochrane, northern Ontario, we hear the very personal and poignant stories of aboriginal teens who have moved there from small communities on the James Bay and Hudson Bay coast; places such as Peawanuk, Moosonee, Moose Factory, Fort Albany and Attawapiskat.
