Global Perspectives

The Republic of Gambia is the smallest country on the African mainland and one of its poorest countries. This past January, fifteen retired teachers from Ireland went on a trip of a lifetime, travelling to West Africa to bring their decades of teaching experience into the classrooms of The Gambia. Gambian teachers face huge challenges in relation to resources, conditions and training, but the Irish teachers brought with them sparkles of hope.
