Most of us have heard there are dozens of words in Inuktitut for snow. Wrong. Inuit languages add suffixes. So a root word for snow is modified as various endings are added hence Inuktitut is highly descriptive. The Innu Aimun in Labrador also have a rich winter vocabulary. Two elders share their words for snow and the stories they inspire.
