The future of legal aid in Alberta called into question

The president of the criminal defence lawyers association in Calgary says legal aid in Alberta is at the point of collapse, due to years of underfunding. Ian Savage spoke at a news conference in Calgary today, to demand more money and support for the program. Just before that news conference, the province announced a new program to provide free duty counsel services as part of Legal Aid. The province is promising to hire 16 new legal aid lawyers. Ian Savage joined host Doug Dirks.
