UVic Civil Engineer wants to help reduce the cost of testing water in mining communities

Arsenic, chromium, mercury and lead are just a few of the chemicals that can be produced during the mining process. And right now, testing for them can be difficult and expensive. But new research from the University of Victoria could change that with a simple test strip. Heather Buckley is an assistant professor in Civil Engineering at UVic, and she just received a $135 thousand dollar grant from the federal government.
