Making batteries out of bitumen: Oilsands research could be 'game changer' for renewable energy

Researchers at the University of Alberta have found an intriguing new use for bitumen. They're extracting a metal called "vanadium," which engineers from Shell Canada are using to make special batteries. Kyle Bakx is a CBC business reporter who recently toured the lab in Edmonton where they're doing this. Kyle joined host Doug Dirks in studio.
