The Homestretch

Ever since Kirsty McGowan left Dubai and landed in Calgary, she's hit the ground running—literally—to help raise money for breast cancer research. She became one of the directors with Run for the Cure and helped raise $2M over the past two years. It's just one of the many contributions she's made to the community. Now the 25-year-old is being recognized for it. Kirsty McGowan was one of five young people awarded a scholarship at the 22nd Annual Immigrants of Distinction Awards on the weekend. Kirsty joined host Doug Dirks in studio.
