OPP launches distracted driving blitz

Afternoon Drive

Stay off your mobile device and keep your eyes on the road. That's the message the OPP is trying to send with a five day blitz that starts Monday. Officers will be on the lookout for distracted drivers throughout the week. The effort includes the use of special vans with tinted windows that enable officers to catch motorists who are on their phone, iPod, or other device. Sgt. David Rektor of the OPP spoke to Afternoon Drive host Chris dela Torre and the dangers of not giving the road your full attention.
