West Broadway: Audrey Logan, 'regional authority on Indigenous Plants'

Information Radio - MB

We begin our Urban Myth's Series this week in West Broadway. Tucked between Portage Avenue and the Assiniboine River and Colony and Maryland streets, it is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city. West Broadway has one of the highest population densities in Winnipeg and it's estimated that 92 percent of the residents are renters. But that doesn't mean it has a transient population. Many people are extremely loyal to the area and there is a sense of community dripping onto the streets. We meet a longtime resident and elder, Audrey Logan, who is known fondly in West Broadway as the "regional authority on Indigenous plants."
