New program supports Calgary families of people with young onset dementia

The Homestretch

Dementia is a condition we commonly associate with the fragile and elderly, but there are more than 1,000 Calgarians under the age of 65 who live with early onset dementia. Cindy McCaffery's husband was 48 when he was diagnosed with it. She has started up a new program called YouQuest to support families. Pamela Roach is the program manager of the brain and mental health research clinics at the Hotchkiss Brain Institute. They spoke about the condition earlier today at a panel at the Kerby Centre and joined host Rob Brown in studio.
