Yazidi immigrants arrive in Calgary

The Homestretch

Survivors of ISIS captors who are now living in Calgary are urging Ottawa to continue its Yazidi resettlement program. The federal government is no longer accepting new applications after meeting its mandate of welcoming 12,000 survivors. Over the past year, more than 200 Yazidis have arrived in Calgary. Calgary Catholic Immigration Services is one of four centres chosen to receive them. Fariborz Birjandian is the CEO of CCIS and he joined Doug Dirks in studio.
