Q GTA 5's Steven "Trevor" Ogg on QTV Feb 5, 2014 | 11:40Grand Theft Auto is one of the most polarizing -- and popular -- videogame franchises ever. The game's violent and sexually explicit scenes have long been controversial, but its creators have pushed the limits yet again by including a brutal torture scene in GTA 5. Canadian actor Steven Ogg joins Jian to explain why he tried to make his character, Trevor Phillips, more than a "one note psychopath". Ogg also opens up on why he accepted the role, why it wasn't jarring to act out extreme violence for the motion capture software, and how he responds to critics of the game.

Doolittle also reflects on the tension between keeping a public figure accountable while minimizing harm against his family, whether she thinks Ford will be re-elected, and what Star staffers do with the "dozens of tips" they get from the public each week.

Q Paralympic Snowboarder Tyler Mosher in Studio Q Jan 29, 2014 | 11:31Tyler Mosher may be great at swerving down the slopes, but the parasnowboader has conquered incredible uphill battles, too. On Dec 30, it will be 13 years since Mosher tumbled down a 10 metre drop while snowboarding, broke his back in 9 places, and became paralyzed below the waist. A decade later, he had not only re-learned how to walk (something doctors told him he would never again do) but had also returned to winter sports as a cross-country skier. Then he defied the odds again by helping convince the Paralympic committee to include adaptive snowboarding on their roster. These days, he's training to represent Canada in the first ever Paralympic parasnowboarding competition. The strong-spirited athlete joins Jian to discuss his determination to overcome adversity and how he's gearing up for Sochi.

Q Clara Hughes and Adam van Koeverden in Studio Q Jan 27, 2014 | 12:35It's no coincidence that most athletes spout well-worn clichés about their 'A' game and being "in it to win it". On top of their physical training, most get media training -- and as veteran catcher Crash Davis says in the movie Bull Durham, "'course it's boring. That's the point." What are the odds that the Olympic games in Sochi will be any different? Will they comment on the political climate in Russia or off-court personal struggles? Veteran Olympians Clara Hughes & Adam van Koeverden join Jian for a special Olympic panel on the subject.

Q The Pixies' David, Joey and Black in Studio Q Jan 24, 2014 | 22:29Pixies know they can pack venues with their time-honoured tunes alone. Albums like Come On Pilgrim, Surfer Rosa, and Doolittle made them a mainstay in the mid-1980s, and brought fans back out in droves when they reunited in 2004. But Boston's alternative trailblazers weren't satisfied resting on their laurels. This last year saw the release of their first new music in 20 years, but also the departure of founding bass player Kim Deal. Pixies join Jian to talk about forging ahead without their longtime bandmate, why they don't want to be a so-called nostalgia band, and the dynamism that bridges the decades.
