Leslie speaks out about the impact of DND cuts to training (extended version)

This week on The House, Evan Solomon looks at the operational readiness of the Canadian Forces. Retired General Andrew Leslie talks about the consequences of increased spending on things such as consultants, while cutting spending on training for soldiers. We also get reaction from the Chief of the Defence Staff General Thomas Lawson. Brad Wall, the Premier of Saskatchewan, and Robert Ghiz, Premier of PEI, , explain a new deal among Canada's provinces and territories to purchase six widely-used generic drugs and save 100 million dollars in the process. Gary Doer, Canada's ambassador to the United States, looks forward to President Obama's inauguration on Monday. Finally, the CBC's Neil Sandell explores the concept of "social finance".
