Paradis explains the approval of the CNOOC-Nexen takeover

This week on The House, after the federal government gives two foreign takeovers the green light, Evan Solomon asks Industry Minister Christian Paradis to explain what the CNOOC and Petronas decisions mean. Then the NDP Energy and Natural Resources critic, Peter Julian, tells us why the decision is 'irresponsible'. Reports of an upcoming audit report into the projected cost of the F-35 fighter jets created waves on Parliament Hill this week. Joining us to discuss this is the Parliamentary Secretary for the Minister of National Defence, Chris Alexander. While the government has given the green light to two foreign takeovers, the Canada - EU trade deal still hasn't been finalized. Negotiations over what’s being billed as the biggest trade deal since NAFTA are still underway. International Trade Minister Ed Fast and NDP critic Don Davies join us to discuss. Finally, Quebec MP Marc Garneau is here to tell you why he would be a better leader of the federal Liberal Party than Justin Trudeau.
