Oil drilling rigs in Gaspé will remain silent...for now
The oil drilling rigs on Petrolia's prospect in Gaspé will remain silent for now. The company decided yesterday not to pursue its exploration on the Haldimand No. 4 site until there's a resolution of the conflict with the Town of Gaspé over its right to drill. The Town Council adopted a regulation last month that basically forbids any oil drilling within town limits, in order to protect water supplies. Isabelle Proulx is Petrolia's vice-president of business development, and she joins us this morning.
