Truth and Reconciliation hearings at the Mani-Utenam community centre
Truth and Reconcililation Commission is on Quebec's North Shore this week, hearing from Innu who attended residential school in the region. The legacy of those schools is a painful one for many survivors, one that has scarred Aboriginal communities. These hearings are a chance for former students to tell those stories, which will become part of the public record. One of the commission's three commissioners, Marie Wilson, is listening in on the hearings this week. She joins Shawn Lyons on the line from the Mani-Utenam community this morning.
