Smog from fireplaces and wood stoves
Montreal is headed for a record number of smog days this winter. Environment Canada says half of the winter smog comes from fireplaces and wood stoves. The town of Kirkland tells people a wood stove burning for nine hours emits as many fine particles as a car does in one year. We speak to the mayor of Kirkland and a West Island woman who lives with asthma.
