A new life for old Record pages
In February 1897, the first issue of the Sherbrooke Daily Record hit newstands across the Eastern Townships for a penny a piece. It was the region's first daily newspaper and the largest English-language paper in Quebec outside of Montreal. Well over one hundred years later, The Record still publishes a daily newspaper in Sherbrooke. But many of those stories from the newspaper's past have been tucked away in the basement of Sherbrooke's historical society. That's until The Record's publisher Sharon McCully kickstarted a project to publish a selection of front pages from 1911 to 1920. Sharon joined us in our Sherbrooke studio to tell us more.
