How much the city overpaid in public contracts
How much money did the city of Montreal lose due to the way it awarded public contracts? An eight year old report commissioned by the city says Montreal had a closed market which allowed companies to inflate prices by as much as 30 to 40 percent. Jean Fortier was chairman of the Montreal executive committee under mayor Pierre Bourque. He's been looking a the numbers for us and calculated how much the city has overpaid.
